Tooth Whitening / Bleaching
What are the details?
Tooth whitening is fast, safe and effective. Dental whitening can correct tooth discoloration caused by staining, aging, or chemical damage to teeth. Using the latest in whitening technology, we offer several safe methods for creating a beautiful and brilliant smile. For extreme tooth discoloration, crowns or veneers may be the only choice, however, since whitening treatments are much lower in cost, they are worth trying first.
Custom trays provide maximum results in a short amount of time, and also provide you with a way to maintain your brighter smile. During your appointment, we take an impression of both your upper and lower teeth. A second appointment well be scheduled one to two weeks later. At that time, we will insure proper fit of the whitening trays. We will then dispense professional strength tooth whitening gel, and instruct you on it’s use. You will use the trays at home for 15 minutes once per day; typically you can achieve maximum results in about two weeks. Once your teeth reach the desired brightness, you will want to touch up your new smile by using your trays and whitening gel every few weeks or whenever you want to brighten up your smile. At New Town Dental, we currently utilize Rev! take home bleaching gel system.
What about those over-the-counter products?
Tooth whitening products available in retail stores are typically lower in strength and do not provide the ideal contact of the whitening gel with your teeth to achieve professional looking results. Many times, the results are very subtle or uneven. Additionally, while “whitening” toothpastes may clean superficial stains from the surfaces of teeth, they will not change the overall color of the teeth. It is strongly recommended that you discuss tooth whitening with your dental professional. At New Town Dental, we have several years of experience in utilizing the best tooth whitening treatments for our patients.
